PSA/VPSA Technology

Pressure swing adsorption (PSA) is a common method for purifying hydrogen in a refinery by removing other hydrocarbon gases. The PSA unit uses a molecular sieve to adsorb hydrocarbons other than hydrogen, resulting in a purified hydrogen stream. Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption (VPSA) is an advanced gas separation technology that utilizes the different selectivity of adsorbents for gas molecules to separate gas components.
